‘PPTX’ Office 2007 update

We believe we have found a solution to the issue. The problem lies with MS Office 2007 and Internet Explorer. Whilst we are unable to pin point the precise fault, we have found that updating Office 2007 to the latest service pack and patches cures the problem, allowing users to download pptx files using Internet Explorer.

All ISS cluster are up to date, unfortunately staff desktops are yet to be updated due to ongoing testing in ISS.

Instructors: When saving files for the VLE we recommend you save them out in Office 97-2003 format. This is a good idea anyway; not all users are using Office 2007 and may have difficulty accessing Office 2007 files.

Comments are welcome, however if you need help or advice please contact the ISS helpdesk on tel (0113) 343 3333, or helpdesk@leeds.ac.uk.
