The VLE Service will have a stand at the Learning and Teaching conference in January. We’d really like to see you there if you want to have a sneak peak at the Blackboard 9.1 system we will upgrade to in 2011.
We’ll have rolling video demonstrations of the new system and an opportunity to talk to Michael Thomas, the VLE Service Leader, and Stuart Robinson, from the Support team.
Blackboard 9 is a very familiar system with a short learning curve. We’ll be keeping much of our existing toolset so your content will not change dramatically (most modules will be rolled over normally just prior to the upgrade). The new software brings us all the familiar Blackboard tools and content types we already use, plus a much improved user interface with numerous bug fixes. The team are currently testing upgrade processes and configuration, and will be in a position to tell you more in the new year.
We’ll be giving road shows and helping Schools run their own next year in the lead up to the upgrade, so keep an eye out for more information on this blog.
Visit our BB9 website for more information on the Blackboard 9 system.
