Embedding video from LUTube in the VLE

We have had several reports of students and staff being unable to view videos embedded from LUTube in the VLE.

Recent updates to Firefox and Chrome mean that any insecure content (e.g. LUTube video) embedded in the VLE will be automatically blocked by the browser. This feature also exists in Internet Explorer where users are prompted to hide/view insecure content.

A workaround when embedding videos from LUTube is to replace any http link in the embed code to https. The video demo highlights how you can do this: http://www.screencast.com/t/jcRAaL0wT4

Some older YouTube links may also be affected, this can be resolved by replacing the VLE embed with the current YouTube embed code.

If you are a student or staff member and are unable to access insecure content via the VLE you should contact the module tutor to make them aware of the issue.
