The issue reported on the 10/10/2013 has now been resolved and any new LUTube videos you embed will now play as expected in the latest browsers.
However older embedded links will continue to be problematic. A workaround when embedding videos from LUTube is to replace any existing http links with https in existing embeds.
This video demo highlights how you can do this: http://www.screencast.com/t/qsYJvBCYTm
Some older YouTube links may also be affected, this can be resolved by replacing the existing embed with the current YouTube embed code. If you are a student or staff member and are unable to access insecure content via the VLE you should contact the module tutor to make them aware of the issue.
Important: Due to security restrictions for user created content in place on the VLE, students are unable to embed video in the VLE, if students are required to include video from the web they should provide the video link as an alternative. Note that LUTube videos set as ‘hosted’ will not work in this way, if you want to link to LUTube content you should set video access permissions to ‘public’ or ‘logged in users’ if you wish to limit access to University of Leeds staff or students only.
