Minerva Login: Single Sign On

The SSO (Single Sign On) component of Minerva has been restored.

Links to services such as email and OneDrive, and the University’s My Media system will now sign in automatically.

Click the Login with username@leeds.ac.uk button.

Remember you should use username@leeds.ac.uk in the username field.

Users with multiple accounts are reminded to use the alternative login provided.

Minerva on Desktop Anywhere

You do not have to use Desktop Anywhere to access Minerva off campus – you can use any supported browser on your computer. However, if you need to be on Desktop Anywhere for other reasons, we recommend you use the Chrome browser to access Minerva.

The version of Internet Explorer (IE) on Desktop Anywhere is not supported by Minerva and if you try to upload content using this version of IE you will get an error message like this:

IT are working on updating IE on Desktop Anywhere.

Warning: Beware of spam emails

We have had reports of spam emails being received at the University.

An example email has the subject RE: You have a new Blackboard message(s) and is from newmessage@blackboard.com:

You will never be asked to log in to Minerva to access a message.

Staff may send emails via Minerva but these emails will  come from the member of staff’s email address and contain the text of the message.

Occasionally staff may link to documents within Minerva. If this happens, check that the URL of the link begins https://minerva.leeds.ac.uk/. When you click it you will see a screen as below asking you to log in.

Staff who copy/export/import Minerva modules may receive a message from “Blackboard Administrator – noreply_vle@leeds.ac.uk” but these will only contain information and will not advise you to log on/click a link for any reason.

If you are concerned about whether a message is genuine, do not click any links and contact the IT Service Desk.

FIXED: Minerva Data Issues

Following the issues at the end of last week, the data in Minerva is now accurate as of Tuesday evening. All module, organisation, user and enrolment data was successfully taken from Banner last night.

As reported on Friday, all the student enrolments for 17/18 that were incorrectly disabled, were reinstated and all user enrolments should now be correct.

We will continue to take nightly feeds as usual from this evening.
