Minerva – maintenance complete

Our Easter maintenance is now complete and Minerva is available again.

We do not anticipate any problems, but will continue to monitor the system closely.

Remember: Minerva supports the most recent and penultimate release versions of all major desktop browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Firefox Quantum
  • Safari (Mac Only)

IE11 is no longer supported.

For the best experience, make sure you clear your browser’s cache before using Minerva.

Minerva maintenance during Easter

Minerva will be unavailable from:

4pm on Monday 13 April until 1pm Tuesday 14 April (BST).

This is essential maintenance. During this maintenance, Minerva will not be available and you won’t have access to content.

Staff: Do not schedule formative or summative assessment or electronic assignment hand-ins through Minerva for the above dates.

Students: Plan for Minerva downtime by retrieving material you know you will need.

Minerva is now unavailable until 3pm on Tuesday, 17 December while we carry out vital work to make the system more resilient; improving the accessibility and availability of Minerva for students and staff.

Minerva maintenance this December

We apologise for the periods when Minerva has been unavailable this semester. We’re doing everything we can to improve the stability of the system.

We will shortly be undertaking work to make the system more resilient; improving the accessibility and availability of Minerva for students and staff. Minerva will be unavailable between 12pm on Friday, 13 December and 3pm on Tuesday, 17 December while we carry out this vital maintenance. We’ve carefully considered the timing of this work so that it falls at the least disruptive period.

Teaching staff have been asked to move any assessment deadlines that fall within this time to make sure the impact on you is reduced as much as possible.

Please be aware of this period of unavailability when planning your work or revision, as teaching materials in Minerva will be unavailable.

Minerva update

Users will have experienced problems accessing Minerva on Monday 18th November; the service was unavailable from 10am to 2:45pm approx.

We are monitoring the service closely and continue to investigate the cause as a matter of priority.

Minerva unavailable

Minerva is currently unavailable. If this affects you, please let the IT Service Desk know. Log in to the IT website, click Service Status from the top menu, then select “I’m affected”.

The For Students website has guidance on what to do if you need to submit work while Minerva is down. It also has links to systems that you might usually access through Minerva. If you need to submit work while Minerva is unavailable, contact your school for advice as soon as possible.
