VLE Issues – Tuesday 10th January

The VLE experienced some performance issues yesterday, which may have meant pages and documents took longer to load and some users may have had problems logging in. These issues started at 16:30.

This was resolved by restarting the VLE. During this period, the VLE was unavailable from 17:10 until 17:30. Full service was resumed from 17:30.

Service was monitored overnight and the VLE is now stable.

VLE downtime now complete

The VLE is available again. During the downtime we have made various updates.

Announcements

Emailed Announcements no longer have extra lines between paragraphs.

SlideShare

SlideShare materials can now be embedded into VLE modules. Staff will notice an option under Add Content:

Adding a SlideShare Presentation using Add Content

Materials can also be embedded in the content editor by both staff and students:

Organisation Enrolments

Leaders of School and Faculty Organisations may notice we have removed enrolments for students who have left the University. (Please note that students who were manually added via the VLE will not be removed.)

This should improve loading times in parts of Organisations, most notably in the Grade Centre.
