Minerva Data Feeds

Due to the ongoing Minerva issues, no feeds have been processed since Wednesday 27th November. This means that staff and student enrolments to modules and organisations have not being processed, along with new accounts and merged modules/organisations.

If you do require urgent access to a module or organisation, please contact the IT Service Desk, so that the enrolment can be processed manually.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Minerva Data Issues

We are currently experiencing an issue with our data feeds which means that enrolments on modules and organisations will not be up-to-date.

All student enrolments for 17/18 have been disabled, meaning that access to these modules will not be possible. Enrolments to all previous years are unaffected.

The last successful feed was on Tuesday evening, so any staff or student enrolments that should have been added since then will not have come through.

We are working hard to resolve these issues and get accurate data into Minerva as soon as possible.

2017 Module Rollover

The Module Rollover for 2017 has been completed.

All modules due to run in 2017/18 have been rolled over, with content copied from the previous year. Any new modules will be empty but have the standard VLE template.

Please note: Staff and Student enrolments have yet to be added to the new modules. We anticipate that enrolments will be added and maintained from some point next week. VLE Home Tab – beta update

Some of you may have noticed that we have been trialling a beta version of a new module and organisation enrolment list on the VLE Home page since April this year.

The Modules list was re-developed to produce faster loading times, add in the ability for organisations to be searched in the same way as modules, while building in some changes suggested by School and Faculty VLE Reps.

This beta phase is now over. As a result of your feedback we have made one incremental change to the beta list: it now shows only the current year by default.

Some staff also fed back that entries are no longer remembered in the Search field when you log out of the VLE (filter persistence). While this feature was popular with some users, in practice it did cause a disproportionate number of issues for staff and students who would forget they were seeing a filtered list and would then have difficulty finding their modules.

However filter persistence still is a great idea and it would be useful if you could choose to remember your search terms if you want to – so it’s definitely on the todo list! (perhaps with a visual indicator to make it clear to users they were seeing a filtered list).

When we have development capacity, we’ll look at this again.

VLE Home tab: New enrolments tool

Today we have released a beta version of a new module and organisation enrolments list on the VLE Home page.

This has been developed to produce faster loading time for ‘power users’ and also builds in changes requested by School and Faculty Reps.

You’ll notice organisations now have their own tab and the list can be searched in the same way as the modules list. Staff will also see all of their module enrolments together, regardless of role.

The modules list shows the last 2 years by default, select ‘Everything’ to see older modules or those without a year.
