Issue: Downloads from Turnitin

We have been made aware of a potential issue when staff download the ‘Online Grading Paper’ from the Turnitin inbox. Intermittently the download will fail or papers will be missing from the generated zip folder.

This does not affect downloads of ‘Originally Submitted Files’.

Turnitin have acknowledged this issue and are currently investigating.

Turnitin Browser Compatibility

A brief reminder that Turnitin no longer support the use of Internet Explorer 11. We first informed the community of this in May, however this has come to a head today with the first reports of the tool failing in older versions of the unsupported browser.

If you are an IE11 user for Turnitin, please switch to a supported browser for Turnitin work.

Turnitin now support the latest and one previous version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

  • Firefox (Quantum)
  • Chrome
  • Safari
  • Microsoft Edge (Edge 17 and 16 are supported, but version 15 is known to work).

For users of the current campus Windows desktops, macOS or Linux machines,  we recommend you use the latest Google Chrome, or the latest Firefox Quantum browsers for Turnitin specific work.

These browsers are also suitable for all other Minerva activity.

Turnitin – Issues with auto save of marks and feedback

Turnitin have informed us that there is an issue with the auto-save feature when markers use the paper-to-paper navigation option in the top right hand corner of the document viewer.

Turnitin have provided us with the following workaround:

Using the paper-to-paper navigation could mean that users lose marks and/or feedback, instead you should close the window and re-load the next paper to avoid any issues.

Apologies for any inconvenience.
