Turnitin Service downtime and Announcement Changes – Tomorrow

Turnitin Service downtime

We would like to remind all users that Turnitin will be unavailable tomorrow (Wednesday 14th February) from 08:00 – 08:30.  Turnitin papers cannot be submitted, accessed or marked during this period.

The downtime will fix some long standing bugs, most notably an ordering issue when viewing assignments by groups.

Minerva will be available during this period and all other Minerva functionality is unaffected.

Announcement Changes

We will also be making some changes to announcements in Minerva tomorrow to improve the user experience.

Announcements without an end date will be updated with an end date. Any announcements that already have an end date will be unaffected by the change.

Full details on the changes can be found in our blog post from 2 weeks ago.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

Comments are welcome, however if you need help or advice please contact the IT Service Desk on tel (0113) 343 3333, or itservicedesk@leeds.ac.uk.

Downtime complete

The VLE is back online following downtime today.

The downtime coincided with upgrades to critical infrastrure, however we took the opportunity to deploy some long awaited fixes and features, including:

  • Anonymous marking has now been turned on in Turnitin
  • A fix to a layout bug on the VLE homepage affecting a small number of users
  • Added some context sensitive help to Announcements, Uploads, Text box editor and module statistics
  • Some improvements to item editing glitches with images and serving audio files.

Comments are welcome, however if you need help or advice please contact the ISS helpdesk on tel (0113) 343 3333, or helpdesk@leeds.ac.uk.
