Resolved: Turnitin Receipt Issues

Turnitin have informed us that all receipts are now being delivered to Office365 email accounts as usual.

Any receipts that students have not received via email up to 15/02/17 will not be resent. Students can still download the digital receipt manually, information on how to do this can be found in our previous blog posting: https://vleservice.wordpress.com/2017/02/14/intermittent-email-receipts-from-turnitin/

If students don’t receive an email receipt within 24 hours of a submission on or after 16/02/17 then please contact the IT Service Desk so we can follow up the issue.

Intermittent email receipts from Turnitin

Some Turnitin users have reported they are not receiving an email confirmation of their submission. This issue is being investigated by Turnitin engineers.

If you have made a submission recently and you have not received an email receipt, you can manually check your digital receipt to confirm the submission:

Return to the assignment area. If you have successfully submitted your digital receipt will be available to view.

To download a copy of your digital receipt as a PDF click on the download icon, then select digital receipt.

Images don’t display in emailed Announcements

Internet Explorer users need to be aware of a new issue with announcements that include embedded images. Images will not display if an announcement is emailed. The issue only occurs if the announcement was created using Internet Explorer, and only affects users who read the announcement outside of the VLE.

A workaround is to use Chrome or Firefox when creating the announcement.

VLE Issues – Tuesday 10th January

The VLE experienced some performance issues yesterday, which may have meant pages and documents took longer to load and some users may have had problems logging in. These issues started at 16:30.

This was resolved by restarting the VLE. During this period, the VLE was unavailable from 17:10 until 17:30. Full service was resumed from 17:30.

Service was monitored overnight and the VLE is now stable.

04/07/16 VLE Slow

We are currently experiencing higher than usual demand on the VLE servers. If your VLE is slow, please try again a little later.

Update: 12:40 – Good News Everyone! The VLE is now responding normally to logins. Thankyou for your patience.

Turnitin Issues

TurnitinUK is currently experiencing intermittent connectivity issues meaning that submission may take longer than usual or may be interrupted.

Turnitin are currently working on the problem, in the interim you can check the Turnitin status Twitter feed for updates.
