Turnitin issues – update

We have not had any further reports of the issues experienced by some of our students on Tuesday 12 Jan. As always, if students do have issues submitting, please contact the IT Service desk to report the issue.

Turnitin – issues

We are receiving reports from students who are having problems submitting to Turnitin.

Turnitin have advised:

“We have been made aware that a number of users are experiencing intermittent issues whilst trying to use Turnitin. This is an ongoing issue affecting a large number of companies/services across the internet and is not specific to Turnitin.”

If a submission fails, please try again. If the problem continues, please report to the IT Service Desk and if you are concerned that you will miss a deadline, please contact your School.

Minerva Service Issues

Some users may have experienced an interruption to service this afternoon, approx 12:30-13:05. Our suppliers implemented a fix shortly after 13:00 and continue to monitor the service.

Minerva slowness

Users may be experiencing problems accessing Minerva – pages are sometimes loading slowly. We have raised a high priority case with the vendor.

Minerva Unavailable – 8th October

Minerva is currently unavailable. The issue is currently under investigation by IT.

Minerva Unavailable – Update/Advice

Minerva is still unavailable and engineers are working on the issue. We currently have no estimated time for when Minerva will be available again.

Turnitin Submissions
We understand that there are a number of dissertations that require submitting to Turnitin today. Please make sure you have got a ticket from the Service Desk if you are affected. You can do that directly: https://leeds.service-now.com/it?id=service_status&service=0d3f67556f5a150002935a8e5d3ee451

Registration
If you are a new student that wishes to register, you can do this directly via Student Services

Key Services
The ‘Minerva is unavailable’ page has a list of links for key services, including email and Office365 access, library accounts, reading lists, accommodation portal and printer credits.

Turnitin unavailable

Turnitin is experiencing a service outage, and is unavailable.

This affects students when attempting to submit and staff when they attempt to view files through Turnitin.

This issue is affecting all Turnitin institutions and their engineers are looking into the issues as a priority.

UPDATE: Minerva Issues

We continue to experience an issue which is stopping the Minerva login page showing to users.

Users will be getting the message ‘Secure Connection Failed’. IT are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and reinstate access to the page.

We will update you here as soon as we have a fix.

Resolved – Turnitin receipt issues

From the 02/05/17 to 31/05/17 some users may not have received email receipts for assignments submitted to Turnitin. This has now been resolved.

Any receipts that students have not received via email up to 31/05/17 will not be resent. Students can still download the digital receipt manually, information on how to do this can be found in our previous blog posting: https://vleservice.wordpress.com/2017/02/14/intermittent-email-receipts-from-turnitin/

If students don’t receive an email receipt within 24 hours of a submission on or after 01/06/17 then please contact the IT Service Desk so we can follow up the issue.
