Turnitin Service downtime and Announcement Changes – Tomorrow

Turnitin Service downtime

We would like to remind all users that Turnitin will be unavailable tomorrow (Wednesday 14th February) from 08:00 – 08:30.  Turnitin papers cannot be submitted, accessed or marked during this period.

The downtime will fix some long standing bugs, most notably an ordering issue when viewing assignments by groups.

Minerva will be available during this period and all other Minerva functionality is unaffected.


Announcement Changes

We will also be making some changes to announcements in Minerva tomorrow to improve the user experience.

Announcements without an end date will be updated with an end date. Any announcements that already have an end date will be unaffected by the change.

Turnitin – Downtime 14/02/18 08:00-08:30

Turnitin will be unavailable on Wednesday 14th February from 08:00 – 08:30. The downtime will introduce some bug fixes, most notably an ordering issue with viewing assignments by groups.

This means papers cannot be accessed or submitted/marked during this period.

FIXED: Minerva Data Issues

Following the issues at the end of last week, the data in Minerva is now accurate as of Tuesday evening. All module, organisation, user and enrolment data was successfully taken from Banner last night.

As reported on Friday, all the student enrolments for 17/18 that were incorrectly disabled, were reinstated and all user enrolments should now be correct.

We will continue to take nightly feeds as usual from this evening.

Minerva Issues

We are currently experiencing an issue with logging into Minerva.

Users who are already logged in may find Minerva is slow.

This is being investigated.

UPDATE: Minerva Available

Access to Minerva has now been reinstated on campus. Users will no longer get the ‘Secure Connection Failed’ message and the login page will now load.

Some off campus users may be able to access Minerva, but others may continue to have issues. This will resolve itself once the changes made are recognised by all Internet Service Providers.

It is possible that users could get stuck in a loop if they have tried to login during the outage. In this case, please clear your browser cache, save any work and close all your browser windows before trying again. The loop will display this message:
